AFTER SCHOOL CLASSES BY TERM
Each term, we have 6 wonderful weeks of creative time in the studio. Join me and fellow art-loving kids for an hour on a Wednesday or Thursday night after school for guided art classes.
Throughout the course students be learning new techniques of drawing and composition as well as mediums. They will also be learning the importance of when to ‘finish’ a project and when to be ok with it being a skill extension lesson. Too often we are pushed to ‘complete’ art when sometimes the main idea is to explore… you may have a preferred medium but exploring others will extend that skill set and allow an expansion of your art knowledge.
We will also be sharing our ideas and work within the group, allowing the students to be able to communicate about their intention and the result. Coming from a commercial artist point of view, this is a skill that is very helpful but not really taught until university. I believe a basis in this is wonderful for both the artist and their audience.
Some extension tasks will be available for those who may work more quickly than others, but without fanfare, as finishing a project is not necessarily the main aim here. All in all, we are giving you an opportunity to create and learn in small groups with like minded peers, using some mediums that you may not get to use normally or want to try before you buy! Start the love of an art journal, learning not every page has to be perfect but to understand the joy is also in the exploration of art… not just the end result.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Enjoy an hour in the studio with an age-appropriate art class. We can cater the class exactly to your / your childs preferences. Most kids choose to paint on a canvas but if that';s not the case we can also paint on a canvas bag, we can do a crafternoon arrangement. Use beads, glitter, papercraft, wand making, jewelry making - anything we can imagine!
- A minimum of 5 kids and a maximum of 12.
- Class runs for an hour
- Guided class with plenty of one on one attention for all the kids
